BDA prepared the site layout, grading, and landscape plan for the New Brunswick Community College in Edmundston. The project was designed to LEED standards. A stormwater management plan was designed to surface drain the hard surface to the perimeter of the site where it is picked up in bioswales. The bioswales are directed to detention/wetland ponds at the low end of the site. The wetlands are designed with a high/low marsh to maximize pollutant uptake and a forebay to settle sediments. A basic landscape plan includes evergreens to provide a wind buffer along the walkways and conifer trees to provide shade in the parking and hardsurface areas. The circulation system provides a clear separation of automobile traffic, delivery and shop area and pedestrians.
